Our Strategic Focus Areas
The Sunderland Foundation seeks to support the expertise and on-the-ground experience of Greater Kansas City organizations making a meaningful impact across the region. Historically, the Foundation has focused on funding capital projects. Moving forward, it will consider a broader range of initiatives aligned with its five strategic focus areas. To support the effective execution of its planned spend-out, the Foundation will transition to an invitation-only grantmaking process.

Assist family stability, economic security and community well-being by investing in affordable housing, emergency shelters, transitional housing, eviction prevention services and homeownership pathways.
Economic Stability
Support community resilience and family stability by expanding equitable access to opportunity, quality jobs and capital for entrepreneurship and local investment.
Health and Behavioral Health
Strengthen holistic community well-being by expanding access to affordable, high-quality behavioral healthcare and closing health care equity gaps.
